Youth

Bendigo’s Youth are inspiring.

I would know, I teach a few of them*.

I believe Bendigo has a goldmine of untapped potential in our young people. They are driven, insightful, and passionate about their city. I believe the council can implement some small changes to guide these young people to be their best selves.

  • Revitalise the City Centre.
The Bendigo CBD is a controversial topic. People often lament about how it seems to be in decline. Developing this space with all age groups in mind will allow everyone to feel a little pride when they walk around.

  • Expand the Bendigo Calendar to include more for youth.
When I was young, the Bendigo Easter Festival, Bendigo Agricultural Show, and other events like these were the highlight of my year. I want to push for more events aimed at young people, that are affordable to every family.

  • Involve the Youth Council in decisions that apply to youth.
The City of Greater Bendigo Youth Council are a group of passionate individuals advocating for their peers. I believe they should be trusted to weigh in on decisions that affect them.

*About one hundred this year.
