Growth

Which I think is fantastic.
But, we need to make sure Bendigo is ready.

Bendigo is expected to reach a population of 200,000 people within the next 40 years. To ensure we are ready to welcome this number, I have a few ideas I think are important:

• Service improvements in growth areas.
  There are a number of growth areas people are looking at in Bendigo. Suburbs like Jackass Flat and Strathfieldsaye, and smaller townships like Goornong. I believe if we can sustainably improve services to these areas, led by those who live there, we can promote growth and ensure that those new residents experience the best of Bendigo, from the beginning.

• Support for Local Business and Local Workers.
  Bendigo does it best when local businesses are supporting local workers. Council can facilitate supports for businesses who stay local and keep jobs in Bendigo, and I believe we can and should be doing more in this space.
